Due to restrictions in the UK/RI the platfomr can only stream Audio within the region. This setup is inherently built into the SFO OTT Platform and very easy to setup.
At SFO we are always looking at ways to improve the streaming process. We have been working with multiple camera setups and POE LAN cameras. The POE (Power Over Ethernet) allows us to have additional cameras situated at the stadiumwith connection to our video production software.
Over the last two years I`ve been investigating the use of addition cameras to add to the main production. There are a variety of cameras that can be setup for different angles.
Live streaming from a video camera can require a video encoder interface to connect to a computer. The video production software can then push out the stream to allow viewers to watch. There are a number of options to achieve this depending on your camera features. Some older cameras only provide HDMI output and hence need an envoder to feed it into the Production software. Some cameras can use WiFi or LAN to push directly out to allow viewing. The items below allow varying levels of output at differing cost.
We have been streaming for over 12 years and always looking at ways to stream more effectively. Now at SFO we have an optimum solution to allow you to stream without the additional information resources needed, specifically at away matches.
In cases where there is a lack of space or no wifi there are solutions to extend WiFi connectivity to other areas of the ground we can use Wifi extenders to reach out the connection. In this example, there is a Outdoor Wireless Bridge and camera located at the back of the goal area and the other end situated in the Gantry where there is a LAN connection.
We recently purchased a 4G router to evaluate it and to see if it provided better connectivity. The ideal feature about this device is the sim-card-slot on the back of the device. Plug in and ready-to go.
